UFC On Versus 3 Medical Suspensions, Sanchez And Kampmann Out Indefinitely

medicalsuspensions8dThe Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority has released the full list of medical suspensions from last Thursdays, March 3, UFC on Versus 3 event. The Authority had initially released three medical suspensions arising from the event but waited to release sentences for main event fighters Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann barring follow-up examinations.

Now with those exams completed, the KBWA has seen fit to issue five suspensions including indefinite suspensions to Sanchez and Kampmann barring medical release.

The suspensions for “The Bluegrass State” were posted by MMAjunkie.com on Monday.

Last Thursdays event took place at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky in the promotions first visit to the venue. The main card aired on the Versus network which saw a battle in the main event as Sanchez and Kampmann slugged it out for three rounds. UFC President Dana White was so impressed with their performance that he awarded each fighter $160,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses, four times the amount ($40K) awarded for the “Knockout and Submission of the Night” awards.

Receiving 60 day suspensions for precautionary reasons were C.B. Dollaway, Thiago Tavares and Todd Brown, who were all lost by knockout at the event.

The full medical suspensions for UFC on Versus 3 are as follows:

  • Diego Sanchez: Indefinite suspension barring clearance by a maxillofacial surgeon
  • Martin Kampmann: Indefinite suspensions barring clearance by an otrhopedist surgeon for his right hand
  • C.B. Dollaway: 60-day suspension for precautionary reasons
  • Thiago Tavares: 60-day suspension for precautionary reasons
  • Todd Brown: 60-day suspensions for precautionary reasons
