The big debut of UFC on ESPN was as good as advertised last night (Sun., Feb. 17, 2019) from inside Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, as Francis Ngannou put a stop for former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez with a 26-second TKO.
In addition to the quick main event, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu wizard Kron Gracie made good on his Octagon debut when he choked out Alex Caceres in the first round, Vicente Luque ended Bryan Barerena with six seconds left in their Fight of the Year candidate, Manny Bermudez remained perfect by submitting bantamweight prospect Benito Lopez, and Luke Sanders scored a vicious knockout finish over former UFC champion Renan Barao on the ESPN+ “Prelims.”
