Get a detailed breakdown of the betting lines for UFC Fight Night 145, which is set to hit O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, this weekend (Sun., Feb. 23, 2019), including best bets, underdogs, favorites and much more!

It’s a morning/early afternoon show for stateside mixed martial arts (MMA) fans this Saturday (Feb. 23, 2019) when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hits O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, with a Light Heavyweight slugfest in the leading role. UFC Fight Night 145’s main event pits the resurgent Jan Blachowicz against all-action destroyer Thiago Santos, while Heavyweight finishers Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Stefan Struve set the stage one fight prior. It’s an oddball card to be sure. Regardless, let’s see if we can’t make it a profitable one.

What Went Wrong at UFC on ESPN 1?

An uninspired performance from Alex Caceres (watch it) undid the hard work Andrea Lee put in, but thanks to Emily Whitmire’s dominant submission of Aleksandra Albu, we came out in the green.

UFC Fight Night 145 Odds For The Undercard:

Gillian Robertson (-135) vs. Veronica Macedo (+115)
Carlo Pedersoli Jr. (-130) vs. Dwight Grant (+110)
Polo Reyes (-120) vs. Damir Hadzovic (EVEN)
Michel Prazeres (-420) vs. Ismail Naurdiev (+335)
Chris Fishgold (-250) vs. Daniel Teymur (+210)
Rustam Khabilov (-135) vs. Diego Ferreira (+115)
Damir Ismagulov (-250) vs. Joel Alvarez (+210)

Thoughts: It looks to me like playing with small favorites is the key to victory on Saturday. In the case of the undercard, that means Gillian Robertson and Polo Reyes.

Robertson seems like the safer investment of the two, being a strong wrestler and submission artist against a woman in Macedo whose takedown defense has failed her time and again in the Octagon. Andrea Lee, a terrific striker but mediocre wrestler, took down Macedo three times on five attempts. I fully expect Robertson to have an even easier time of it.

Outside of the Lightweight Top 15, there are few fighters I’d pick to out-brawl Polo Reyes. Hadzovic is a tough son-of-a-gun, but without a takedown game to keep Reyes honest, the power disparity will overwhelm him. Reyes may or may not punch hard enough to put him to sleep, but it’ll be enough to sway the judges.

UFC Fight Night 145 Odds For The Main Card:

Jan Blachowicz (-110) vs. Thiago Santos (-110)
Marcos Rogerio de Lima (-130) vs. Stefan Struve (+110)
Michal Oleksiejczuk (-190) vs. Gian Villante (+165)
Liz Carmouche (-140) vs. Lucie Pudilova (+120)
Petr Yan (-270) vs. John Dodson (+230)
Magomed Ankalaev (-235) vs. Klidson Farias de Abreu (+195)

Thoughts: The main event’s lines keep fluctuating, meaning it might be wiser to wait and see if he becomes an underdog again, but I like the looks of Jan Blachowicz for one simple reason: chin.

Santos’ durability issues have yet to show themselves at Light Heavyweight, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a tougher man in the weight class than Blachowicz. He’s only ever been stopped by technical knockout once in 30 professional fights, and that was because of a leg injury. He can take everything Santos can dish out and has demonstrated significantly greater volume than in the early days of his Octagon run, meaning it’s only a matter of time until he finds the mark.

UFC Fight Night 145 Best Bets:

  • Single bet — Gillian Robertson: Bet $67.50 to make $50
  • Single bet — Polo Reyes: Bet $48 to make $40
  • Single bet — Jan Blachowicz: Bet $44 to make $40
