Well it was certainly an exciting announcement on Tuesday when UFC President Dana White named UFC heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos as the season 13 coaches for “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Lesnar does not have the best record when dealing with the media in the past and having him on camera for six weeks straight could prove explosive. Added to the fact that some have questioned the former champions will to keep fighting, which leaves some wondering if White made the right choice in naming Lesnar as one of the shows coaches.
White announced the coaches on Tuesday during a media call for the UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 event and was immediately hounded with questions concerning his choice of Lesnar as coach.
“In dealing with Brock, one minute, he can be into something, and the next minute, he can completely be not into something. I’m already prepared for this, mentally, and it’s gonna be a tough season. I know it is…The guy’s a former world champion, has beat guys and held the title. No matter what his record is, what the guy has accomplished in the short amount of time that he’s been in MMA is incredible. To say the guy doesn’t have the credentials to coach ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is probably one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.”
