Not much came out of last weekend’s event rankings-wise, but a late main event finish means a new contender at heavyweight.
The UFC’s return to Washington DC was kind of a dud. Two draws on the main card, and not a ton of action anywhere else means that everything stays mostly the same here this week. There are two things that changed it up though – Jairzinho Rozenstruik’s super late TKO win over Alistair Overeem, and the removal of Liz Carmouche from the women’s flyweight rankings.
Here’s a look at the changes going into UFC 245.
P4P – No changes.
Heavyweight – Rozenstruik is up a huge nine spots into a tie for five with Derrick Lewis. Alexander Volkov dropped one to seven. Overeem is down two to eight. Walt Harris, Shamil Abdurakhimov, Blagoy Ivanov, Aleksei Oleinik, Augusto Sakai, and Sergei Pavlovich are all down one each to nine through 14. Marcin Tybura re-enters at 15.
Light Heavyweight – No changes.
Middleweight – No changes.
Welterweight – Gilbert Burns is up two to 12. Geoff Neal is up one to 14. Neil Magny is back in at 15.
Lightweight – No changes.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – Rob Font is up one to nine after beating Ricky Simon. Cody Stamann is down one to ten after his draw with Song Yadong. Yadong is up one into a tie for 12.
Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s Bantamweight –
Women’s Flyweight – The surprising release of Liz Carmouche changed things up. Everyone from five to 15 moved up a spot to compensate. Ji Yeon Kim makes her first rankings appearance at 15.
Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
