This past weekend (Sat. March 30, 2019) UFC Philadelphia took place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In the main event of the night, former World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) lightweight champion Justin Gaethje stole the show. “The Highlight” finished Edson Barboza with a first-round knockout. Gaethje connected on a hook as Barboza was walking backward.

With the victory, Gaethje has entered the top five of the UFC’s 155-pound rankings. Gaethje has more than earned his spot at the top. However, there’s a much more ‘Notorious’ fighter who is somehow also there, let alone in the pound-for-pound top 10. Despite being ‘retired,’ despite the fact he has not won a fight since 2016, McGregor sits at No. 8 at pound-for-pound. He is ranked above three current UFC champions.

McGregor also sits at No. 2 at lightweight even though he has one win in the UFC at 155 pounds. That win over Eddie Alvarez hasn’t exactly aged well, either, as ‘The Underground King’ lost his ONE debut last weekend in dominant fashion. McGregor is becoming known more for his Twitter beef with Khabib and his arrests than his actual fights.
