Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight titleholder, Andrei Arlovski, wants to recapture the 265-pound crown before retiring from mixed martial arts (MMA), so anything other than that specific accomplishment doesn’t mean shit.

Not even tying the heavyweight win record, now shared with exiled ex-champ Frank Mir, at 16.

“It doesn’t mean shit, to be honest with you,” Arlovski said. “I’m in the UFC to reach my goal, and that’s it. I still have a lot of work to do with all of my coaches, so I’m just going to have a few days off, and then it’s back to the gym.”

Arlovski (27-15, 1 NC) now has two straight wins since leaving Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA last year and hooking up with American Top Team, the most recent of which came against longtime veteran Stefan Struve at UFC 222 last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At age 39, there’s not a lot of time for the “Pit Bull” to get something going and he’s ranked just outside the top 10 of his division. That said, a couple of big wins could get him back where he needs to be in order to make a run.

Anyone like his chances?
