Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina will host the UFC’s first trip to Brazil in 2014.
The city, which hosted UFC on FX 8 featuring Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold as the main event on May 18, will host the UFC again on Feb. 8 at the Arena Jaragua, which holds up to15,000 people. There are no bouts set for this card yet.
Sources close to the UFC confirmed the information to MMA Fighting. Combate first reported the news.
UFC on FX 8 featured the debut of a pair of former Strikeforce title middleweight champions, Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza, in the top portion of the card. Rockhold was knocked out by Belfort with a spinning heel kick in the first round, and “Jacare” tapped Chris Camozzi with an arm-triangle choke.
