The UFC is heading back to New Jersey.
The organization announced Saturday night it will hold a UFC on FOX event April 18 at Prudential Center in Newark. The city has been an annual stop for the UFC in recent years. No main event has been announced yet.
Last year in Newark, Jose Aldo defended his UFC featherweight title by beating Ricardo Lamas by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 169 on Super Bowl weekend. Renan Barao beat Urijah Faber by first-round TKO in the co-main event.
Previously, Jon Jones beat Chael Sonnen in a UFC light heavyweight bout at UFC 159 on April 27, 2013. This year will mark the sixth time the UFC has held a show in Newark. In total, the UFC has been to New Jersey 15 times, most recently Atlantic City in July.
