The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California was home to an solid night of fights that saw Team Alpha Male victorious in nearly all their fights (Darren Elkins was the only one to catch an L from the team). The card had five (T)KOs, zero submissions and seven decisions, including one split-decision.

Performances of the Night: Jonathan Martinez, Andre Fili, Josh Emmett, Urijah Faber

Jonathan Martinez and Pingyuan Liu fought a real grinder that saw Martinez edging out Liu for most of the fight. The first round had its moments, a nice flying knee from Martinez was the star of the early goings, and it would be another crushing knee that would end the fight late in the third round. Martinez gets the KO win and a $50,000 bonus.

Andre Fili and Sheymon Moraes traded a barrage of kicks for the better part of three minutes before “Touchy Fili” caught the Brazilian with a huge right that dropped him. Andre followed him down and landed a few more shots before the referee stepped in. Fili took the win and a $50,000 bonus.

Team Alpha Male product Josh Emmett scored a sensational first round TKO over Mirsad Bektic in front of Sacramento fans tonight. The two traded shots that were mostly blocked for the majority of the round, but Emmett scored big with a stiff jab that dropped Bektic. Josh pounced on his felled opponent, landing hammerfists and elbows until Jason Herzog stopped the action. Emmett scored the victory and took home a $50,000 bonus.

Ricky Simon started out with a hard shot that backed up Urijah Faber, then commenced with chopping the “California Kid’s” legs with a hard leg kick. He had his plan well in hand, then out of nowhere, BLAM! A huge overhand right dropped Simon. Faber went straight into berzerker mode, doing cartwheels and throwing wild punches that kissed the air before finally settling into some real bombs that forced Mike Beltran to intervene. Urijah Faber got the 46-second TKO victory (his first TKO in more than 12 years) and a $50,000 bonus.
