Press Release – Las Vegas, Nevada – When Jon Jones won the UFC® light heavyweight title at UFC 128 by defeating legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, he became the youngest world champion in UFC history at just 23-years-old. Two weeks following “Bones” epic win, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the signing of another budding prodigy, 8-year-old Steve Poulin.

Poulin, from Schulyerville, NY, has become an internet sensation for his dominating performances on the wrestling mat. His YouTube highlight reel has garnered nearly seven million views, while his style has drawn comparisons to UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes and former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Sensing an opportunity to secure the services of one of the world’s most promising athletes, UFC officials reached a deal to bring the Mohawked powerhouse to the Octagon®.

“We are always looking to sign the best fighters in the world,” UFC President Dana White said. “I think this kid has the talent to become the youngest world champion in history. We have signed him to an eight-fight deal and his first fight will be this summer. Let’s see if he can break Jon Jones’ record.”

Poulin is expected to start his career in the UFC bantamweight (135 pound) division.
