Surging heavyweight contender Shamil Abdurakhimov continued his dominance earlier today (Sat., April 20, 2019) at UFC on ESPN+ 7 live on ESPN+ from inside Yubileyny Sports Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia, when he put a brutal stop to veteran Marcin Tybura via second-round TKO (punches).
After a competitive first round that saw Abdurakhimov score with his boxing and Tybura try to control the action with his grappling, Abdurakhimov unleashed in the second. The Russian heavyweight caught Tybura with a powerful left hand to the temple that buckled the Polish contender. Abdurakhimov followed his efforts up with left hands in bunches along the cage until Tybura fell to the ground and the referee stepped in for the TKO stoppage.

With this performance, Abdurakhimov extends his current UFC win streak to three having captured recent victories over former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski and MMA veteran Chase Sherman. The 37-year-old now holds an impressive 5-2 record since making his Octagon debut back in 2015 and should get another top 10 opponent his next time out.
