Ultimate Fighting Championship fans are being treated to two more free preliminary bouts from the promotions next pay-per-view event, UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones which is set for March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The promotion had already announced two preliminary bouts airing on Spike TV, with a lightweight clash between Edson Barboza vs. Anthony Njokuani, and a light heavyweight bout between Luiz Cane vs. Eliot Marshall.
Now MMAjunkie.com is reporting that the UFC has decided to add make two more preliminary bouts free by streaming them on their Facebook.com/UFC page.
Fans will get to watch a lightweight bout between Kurt Pellegrino (15-5) vs. Gleison Tibau (21-7) and a welterweight clash featuring Ricardo Almeida (13-4) vs. Mike Pyle (20-7-1).
Both Pellegrino and Tibau both have a loss in their last fight, and at 155 lbs in the UFC, means that the loser gets his pink slip. Pellegrino is coming off a unanimous decision loss at UFC 116 to George Sotiropoulos, ending a four fight win streak. Tibau also lost a unanimous decision in his last bout, it was to Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night 22. The loss ended a two fight win streak for the Brazilian.
Almeida bounced back from a loss by earning a unanimous decision against TJ Grant at UFC 124, after a technical submission loss to Matt Hughes at UFC 117. After dropping to 170 lbs Almeida is 2-1. His opponent Pyle, has won two straight and is 3-2 in the UFC. Pyle defeated John Hathaway at UFC 120 by unanimous decision in his last octagon appearance.
