Light heavyweight veteran Misha Cirkunov delivered on his main card opener earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 14, 2019) at UFC Fight Night 158 live on ESPN+ from inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, when he put a stop to previously undefeated prospect Jimmy Crute via first-round Peruvian necktie.
Both men scored points early as Cirkunov opted to take the action to the canvas but Crute was able to cut the Latvian fighter under the eye. Cirkunov remained patient though and was able to scramble into prime position for a tight guillotine attempt. Crute jumped over but Cirkunov was able to hang on and altered the choke to score a super rare Peruvian necktie.

With this performance, Cirkunov gets back into the light heavyweight win column after getting finished by Johnny Walker in just 38 seconds back in March. The 32-year-old veteran certainly has the skill set to make a push up the 205-pound ladder so it’ll be interesting to see what Cirkunov can do with a little momentum behind him entering 2020.
