A late scratch to the main card of UFC Vegas 28.

UFC Vegas 28 began with 14 fights but just before the prelims began, news broke that the card will finish with just 13.

The UFC announced at the end of the preliminary card that the main card opener between middleweights Tom Breese and Antonio Arroyo was cancelled due to an undisclosed medical issue for Breese.

Breese was looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Omari Akhmedov, whereas Arroyo was in obvious must-win mode after consecutive defeats to Andre Muniz and Deron Winn.

It is worth noting that Breese has had problems with anxiety in the past, and that did result in one fight cancelled against Ian Heinisch a few years ago, In general he’s had several fights called off for various reasons throughout his UFC career. We can only wish Breese the best and hope that he’s alright.

Montana De La Rosa vs. Ariane Lipski was promoted to the main card, although all of the decision that occurred on the prelims might have bumped that up anyway.
