Neither Curtis Blaydes nor Alexander Volkov had the highest purse for last Saturday’s event.
We have purse info from last Saturday’s UFC Vegas 3 card, and you may be surprised (or not!) to find out that neither headliner is guaranteed six figures in base pay. Curtis Blaydes got $180,000 through a $90,000/$90,000 deal, whereas Alexander Volkov’s loss means he gets just $80,000. For context, Greg Hardy is on a $90,000/$90,000 deal right now.
Josh Emmett did well to sign a new contract right before his eventual win over Shane Burgos. Not only did he get a bump from $49,000/$49,000 to $76,000/$76,000, in addition to a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
The highest purse honors belong to none other than Jim Miller, who’s fantastic win over Roosevelt Roberts doubled his pay from $104,000 to $208,000. He was the only fighter with a six-figure base purse, and for someone who has never fought for a title but has had 35 UFC appearances and is beloved by everyone, it’s great to see him get that type of money. He also got a performance bonus so tack on $50,000 more for him.
