UFC Vegas 41 will also feature a Lightweight tussle pitting the surging Grant Dawson against iron-tough bruiser Ricky Glenn and a women’s Bantamweight bout between finishers Jessica-Rose Clark and Joselyne Edwards.

What Went Wrong at UFC Vegas 40?
I suppose I was overdue for a complete and total cluster f*ck. We even got to see all of my favorite types of betting screw ups: overestimation (Ludovit Klein), terrible judging (Ramazan Emeev) and inexplicably bad game planning (Aspen Ladd). We’re still way ahead for the year, thankfully, but that was rough.
UFC Vegas 41 Odds For The Undercard:
Gregory Rodrigues (-110) vs. Jun Yong Park (-110)
Tabatha Ricci (-230) vs. Maria Oliveira (+190)
Mason Jones (N/A) vs. David Onama (N/A)
Jai Herbert (-180) vs. Khama Worthy (+158)
Jeff Molina (-172) vs. Daniel Lacerda (+152)
Livinha Souza (-122) vs. Randa Markos (+102)
Laureano Staropoli (-240) vs. Jamie Pickett (+200)
Thoughts: I like the lines on Gregory Rodrigues, Jai Herbert and Laureano Staropoli as favorites. Daniel Lacerda doesn’t look like the worst underdog pick, either.
“Robocop” Rodrigues was actually a slight underdog for a bit, but there’s still value there. As good as Jun Yong Park’s looked lately, his greatest successes came against strikers with limited wrestling games. Rodrigues is by far the best grappler he’s faced since at least his unsuccessful UFC debut against Anthony Hernandez, and if “The Iron Turtle’s” takedown defense is as porous as it was then, Rodrigues will have a field day.
It’s worth a look for sure.
Here I am, indulging in my bad habit of betting on fights between knockout punchers. Still, Jai Herbert seems like a relatively safe pick despite his fragility. Khama Worthy is coming off of two brutal knockout losses, one of them to a far shorter and less technically adept striker in Ottman Azaitar, and lacks the wrestling that Francisco Trinaldo and Renato Moicano primarily used to defuse “The Black Country Banger.” Anything can and will go wrong when two glass cannons trade hands, but I’m willing to stick my neck out.
Jamie Pickett simply does not know how to keep shorter, stubbier fighters off of him. Both Tafon Nchukwi and Jordan Wright were able to get in his face with complete impunity, and the similarly aggressive Staropoli figures to have just as much success. “Pepi” is plenty durable, too, so he should be able to weather “Nightwolf’s” occasional explosions of offense.

Marvin Vettori (-150) vs. Paulo Costa (+130)
Grant Dawson (-350) vs. Ricky Glenn (+290)
Jessica-Rose Clark (-140) vs. Joselyne Edwards (+120)
Seung Woo Choi (-280) vs. Alex Caceres (+240)
Francisco Trinaldo (-127) vs. Dwight Grant (+107)
Nick Negumereanu (-220) v. Ike Villanueva (+180)
Thoughts: Francisco Trinaldo looks like a solid choice from where I’m sitting, and the three men over -200 could work as parlay fillers.
The thing about Dwight Grant is that he’s not a very good fighter. Two of his three UFC victories came via questionable decision and his striking comprises little more than wild, straight-armed swings, which he lacks the gas tank to throw more than a few of each round. Trinaldo may be undersized and a million years old, but even a depleted version of him is better than any iteration of Grant.
As far as the heavy favorites, Rick Glenn has always struggled with determined grapplers, which Grant Dawson absolutely is. In addition, Seung Woo Choi really looks like he’s coming into his own, while Ike Villanueva’s poor UFC showings leave me unconvinced that he can deal with Nick Negumereanu’s basic but relentless pressure. Toss ‘em in as you see fit …
