Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus were due to run it back after their no contest.
Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus fought a strange fight at UFC Vegas 38 earlier this month. The bout featured a nasty clash of heads, which seemed to knock Holland out. However, Holland regained his composure, but only enough to be submitted by Daukaus moments later.
After much deliberation outside the cage it was eventually ruled that the accidental clash of heads dramatically affected the outcome of the fight. Since Daukaus wasn’t at fault the fight was ruled a no contest. Despite the referee’s ruling, Holland said he considered himself well beaten in that fight.
Holland and Daukaus were due to run it back at UFC Vegas 42, which is scheduled for November 13. However, Holland has been forced off the card with an undisclosed injury.
Daukaus took to Twitter to share news of Holland’s withdrawal, wishing his opponent a speedy recovery. Daukaus also said he hoped to meet ‘Trailblazer’ in February.

Holland’s removal from UFC Vegas 42 has since been confirmed by MMA Fighting. That outlet reported that the UFC would prefer to keep Daukaus on the card and are actively seeking a new opponent.
The no contest versus Daukaus marked the third fight in 2021 that Holland had failed to win. His other two fights this year were losses to Marvin Vettori and Derek Brunson.
Those three disappointing results came on the heels of an extremely impressive 2020 where Holland won five bouts inside the Octagon. Those wins included a TKO of Joaquin Buckley, a split decision over Darren Stewart and a bizarre stoppage of Jacare Souza.
