New MMA promotion Standout Fighting Tournament will have its first show Sept. 20 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has signed Luiz “Banha” Cane and Rodney Wallace, a pair of UFC veterans, to headline their show.

Cane, a 32-year-old Sao Paulo native, reeled off three straight wins in the UFC light heavyweight division in 2008 and 2009, finishing the likes of Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Jason Lambert, but he wasn’t the same since.

After three losses in four bouts, “Banha” decided to drop to middleweight and ended up being released from the UFC after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Chris Camozzi. He will return to the 205-pound division to meet Wallace.

Wallace, one year younger than the Brazilian, fought in the UFC between 2009 and 2010. Following a decision loss to Brian Stann in his Octagon debut, the Chute Boxe fighter was released from the promotion after losses to Jared Hamman and Phil Davis.

Wallace went 10-3-1 since the release and is undefeated over his last six bouts.

In the co-main event, MMA veteran Flavio Alvaro looks for his 45th win in 55 bouts against Sergio Soares (10-5). Thomas Almeida (13-0), a bantamweight prospect from Chute Boxe, is also confirmed for the card, but is still waiting for his opponent.
