UFC welterweight Rick ‘The Horror’ Story (13-5) has his third opponent for the upcoming UFC on FX 4 event after both Papi Abedi and Rich Attonito were forced out of the Atlantic City event.
Story will now face newcomer Brock ‘The Machine’ Jardine (9-1) according to UFC officials.
Rick Story now has his third opponent for the June 22 FX fight card in Atlantic City, as Papy Abedi has been forced to withdraw due to injury just three weeks after stepping up to fill in for Story’s original opponent, Rich Attonito. Story will now meet 9-1 Pit Elevated product Brock Jardine.
UFC on FX 4 (aka UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida) is scheduled to take place on June 22, 2012 at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey and features a lightweight bout between Gray Maynard vs. Clay Guida in the main event.
Story will look to end a two fight losing skid after ‘The Horror’ had been on a tear winning six in a row in the Octagon. His last fight took place in November at UFC 139 where he lost a unanimous decision to Martin Kampmann in San Jose. Before that, Story had been scheduled to meet Nate Marquardt at UFC on Versus 4, but Marquardt was pulled on weigh-in day in favor of Charlie Brenneman. Story would lose that bout by decision to ‘The Spaniard.’
Jardine fought earlier this month at a Showdown Fights event in Utah, winning his third straight by stopping opponent Blas Avena via second round TKO. Jardine has earned four finishes by submission and three by (T)KO, as well as having earned two decisions in his career.
