URCC hosted an insane 3-on-3 spectacle in the middle of other legitimate MMA bouts.
URCC: Raw Fury was hosted Saturday night in Manila, and while they had five title fights that featured some of the Philippines’ top fighters, it was their insane insane 3-on-3 MMA contest that naturally made the rounds online.
It was three Filipino fighters vs three Chinese fighters, along with three referees to try and contain all the madness inside the cage. As expected, things got pretty crazy.

In the end, one of the Chinese fighters couldn’t continue after complaining about a possible shot at the back of the head. The team decided against continuing the match shorthanded at 3 vs 2, and Team Philippines was eventually awarded with the victory.
The URCC has hosted this type of spectacle multiple times already, with the first iteration of their 3-on-3 bouts being held back in 2016. It’s designed to get the crowd going and draw a different set of eyeballs to their more legitimate bouts, which this card certainly had as well.
In a line up that had five title bouts, multi-division URCC champion Chris Hofmann returned to competition after a two year layoff, defeating Musa Conteh by TKO in the second round of their middleweight contest.
Mark Striegl’s featherweight title defense against UFC veteran Shunichi Shimizu had a bit of an anticlimactic finish. Striegl, a former PXC and ONE FC star with an 18-2 record, kept his URCC title, but not in the way he wanted it. Shimizu was hit with an accidental low blow in the second round and was unable to continue, leaving the bout as a No Contest.
Drex Zamboanga, who was once linked to a UFC contest, impressively TKO’d Korea’s Seung Hyun Cho. After a big knee and a flurry opened up a nasty cut, Zamboanga was awarded the victory and he successfully defended his URCC bantamweight title.
In the other two championship fights, John Adajar and Ernesto Montilla won their respective title bouts at welterweight and flyweight, respectively. Former champion Geli Bulaong also rebounded well, getting back on track by earning a decision against her Korean foe Hyun Ji Jang.
