Fight fans will be happy to know they don’t have to wait too long for a rematch between undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and former WBC titleholder Tyson Fury.

On Saturday, the two heavyweights collided in a main event for the ages. All of the major heavyweight belts were up for grabs in order to crown the first undisputed division champion since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield back in 1999. That was 25 years ago, which made Fury vs. Usyk an incredible event to witness (highlights HERE).

Luckily, the fight lived up to its billing. There were massive momentums swings early on, Usyk nearly put Fury out on his feet later in the fight, and the judging was so close that it warrants an immediate rematch (official scorecard HERE). Fortunately for Fury and fight fans everywhere, that’s exactly what’s expected to happen next.

According to reports, the contract for Fury vs. Usyk includes an immediate rematch clause for “Gypsy King” if he wishes to fight the Ukrainian champion again. Fury has already revealed his plans to fight Usyk again later this year, which in the contract is stated to occur on Oct. 12. That’s less than four months away, which is great news for boxing fans.

Fury, who earned over $100 million for his main event efforts this weekend, believes he did enough to win his heavyweight superfight against Usyk. If it wasn’t for a knockdown in the ninth round then the matchup likely would have ended in a draw. It’s safe to say that a rematch is needed.

Do you think a rematch is in order? If so, who will win Usyk vs. Fury 2?

Let’s hear it!
