The final fight of Paige VanZant’s current UFC contract will have to take place at a later date, as “12 Gauge” has been felled by an undisclosed injury and forced to withdraw from her UFC Brasilia bout against Amanda Ribas, set for Nilson Nelson Gymnasium on March 14 in Brazil.

Taking her place is strawweight veteran Randa Markos, according to Combate.

VanZant (8-4) was last seen taking a submission victory over Rachael Ostovich at UFC Brooklyn roughly one year back. The former “It Girl” struggled with her health between then and now and seemed to have a falling out with UFC over contract negotiations.

So much for that UFC title.

As for Markos (10-7-1), she got back into the win column with a split-decision victory over Ashley Yoder at UFC Singapore last October. “Quiet Storm” has yet to win back-to-back fights under the UFC banner in 13 trips to the cage. Ribas (8-1), meanwhile, is 2-0 since crossing over from MAX Fight in Brazil and upset Mackenzie Dern at UFC Tampa just a few months back.
