Verbal agreements are in place for an upcoming UFC bantamweight bout between former WEC champ Miguel Torres (38-4) and Nick Pace (6-2) for November’s UFC 139 event in San Jose.

Pace Tweeted news that he had been offered Torres as his next fight, with MMAFighting.com confirming later that verbal agreements were in place.

UFC 139 will take place on November 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The event will be unofficially headlined by a light heavyweight bout between former PRIDE champions Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and Dan Henderson.

Torres lost his last fight, a unanimous decision to Demetrious Johnson in May at UFC 130, ending a two fight win streak and putting his UFC record at 1-1. The former WEC champ debuted with the UFC in February, earning a decision victory over Antonio Banuelos while fighting in a WEC cage for the last time in September at WEC 51. At that event, Torres stopped Charlie Valencia by submission to end a two fight losing skid which saw him lose the WEC belt.

Pace was last in action last month, losing a unanimous decision to Ivan Menjivar in a 138 lb catchweight bout. Menjivar came in overweight, so Pace fought his second straight fight at 138 lbs. In his bout before, Pace debuted with the UFC at the TUF 13 Finale against Will Campuzano. At the weigh-ins Pace hit the scales at 138 lbs with both fighters agreeing to a catchweight bout. Pace would catch Campuzano with a pillory submission choke in the third round for the victory.
