Chris Curtis could not have asked for a better UFC debut earlier tonight (Sat., Nov. 6, 2021) at UFC 268 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, when “Action Man” stopped rising middleweight prospect Phil Hawes with a first-round TKO (punches).
Hawes came out like a man on fire as the wrestler opened up with crisp kicks to the body and long punches from the outside. Curtis seemed hesitant to throw much of anything as the pressure started to mount. Out of nowhere, “Action Man” stepped in and caught Hawes with a stiff left hand. Hawes nearly fell to the canvas before picking himself back up and eating another left hand followed by a knee to the body. Hawes stumbled backwards and hit the ground. Curtis landed one final punch before the referee stepped in and called a stop to his memorable Octagon debut.
