Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz had to be separated by security earlier tonight (Sat., July 6, 2019) at UFC 239 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the two lightweights crossed paths cageside while watching the fights.
Khabib, who is set to defend his UFC lightweight championship at UFC 242 this September against Dustin Poirier, was in attendance with a full entourage. Diaz came out to support teammate Gilbert Melendez in his “Prelims” fight with Arnold Allen so it was only a matter of time before the two stars locked eyes.
While much of the incident is still left for the imagination, raw video footage surfaced which saw Diaz arguing with Khabib’s team in the crowd and a rush of people coming in. And that was about it. There’s certainly more information to come, but check out the incident above and below:

This wouldn’t be the first time Khabib and Diaz have tangled outside of actual MMA competition. Diaz claims to have slapped the undefeated Russian during a brawl at a World Series of Fighting (WSOF) event back in 2015.
As for Khabib, he’s still riding out a nine-month suspension for brawling with Conor McGregor’s teammates at UFC 229 last October after choking out “Notorious” for a title win. Another cageside altercation is not something Khabib need on his record right now, especially with his matchup with “Diamond” just two months away.
It will be interesting to see what facts come out of this incident so keep it here with Mania for any further updates.
