Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Las Vegas later this evening (Sat., May 30, 2020) to host UFC on ESPN 9 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX facility. It will mark the first event in Sin City since UFC returned from COVID-19 suspension earlier this month.
While most fight fans will tune in to to see former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley battle rising contender Gilbert Burns in the main event, UFC on ESPN 9 will also feature some of the most exciting new talents the promotion has to offer.
UFC has released the above video preview showcasing five of those up-and-coming fighters, which happens to be Antonina Shevchenko, Daniel Rodriquez, Brok Weaver, Spike Carlyle and Jamahal Hill. Find out how each fighter found their way to the Octagon and what they are capable of doing this weekend in Las Vegas.
Out of all five, Shevchenko, who is the sister of current UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, has the most difficult matchup. “Pantera” will be asked to take out flyweight contender Katlyn Chookagian, who is coming off a title loss to the aforementioned Valentina.
Only time will tell which rising prospect shines in UFC’s return home.
