While the combat sports community scrambles to figure out when and where Conor McGregor will make his mixed martial arts (MMA) return, the former UFC champion has been busy helping out the disabled at a SBG gym in Dublin, Ireland.
That’s right, folks. McGregor isn’t just some crazed madman who throws arena equipment through bus windows every chance he gets. The brash Irish superstar has a soft spot, or at least the ability to help out when he is needed.
In the above video, posted by disabled man Craig Rankin, “Notorious” can be seen huddling over his fellow Irishman and showing support as Rankin tries to get through an intense workout on a rowing machine with just one leg.
“Yesterday the best fighter on the planet @TheNotoriousMMA helped me get through 3500 meters doing so with the use of one leg,” Rankin wrote in his Twitter post. ”He didn’t have to give me guidance or help me but he did and I’m entirely grateful.
“This is SBG. I Will Always Be Okay. #McGregor #UFC #DisabledAndProud #SBG.”
Pretty cool stuff, especially considering McGregor has been in temporary hiding after getting arrested in Brooklyn earlier this month for attacking a bus at Barclays Center prior to UFC 223.
Despite his unparalleled persona and sometimes cringe-worthy actions, McGregor still seems to come through time and time again. Remember, “Notorious” was honored earlier this year for his work with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.
