With a vast majority of combat fans held up inside waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to pass, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is doing its best to keep things interesting.
Earlier today (Fri., Mar. 20, 2020), the promotion released a video montage paying tribute to former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who also happens to be celebrating his 41st birthday. As one of the greatest fighters to ever compete inside of the Octagon, UFC was not short on footage to show.

Cormier, who had previously planned to retire when he turned 40 last year, is coming off a knockout loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 241 last August. It was a rematch of their first matchup back at UFC 226, which saw “DC” move up from light heavyweight to finish Miocic in the first round and claim his second UFC belt.
Early rumors suggest that Cormier and Miocic will meet in a trilogy bout later this summer. But with the current state of MMA in limbo due to the COVID-19 outbreak, fight fans aren’t sure when the third chapter will unfold. When it does happen it will arguably be the most important fight in the history of the UFC’s heavyweight division.
In total, “DC” has amassed a memorable 11-2 (1 NC) record inside the Octagon, losing to only Jon Jones and the aforementioned Miocic. Along the way, Cormier has defeated notable UFC veterans such as Anderson Silva, Alexander Gustafsson, Frank Mir, Anthony Johnson, Dan Henderson, and Miocic.
