Deontay Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KO) will try to finish what he started tomorrow night (Sat., Feb. 22, 2020) live on ESPN+ PPV from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, when “Bronze Bomber” meets rival Tyson Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) in the main event to be contested for the WBC, The Ring, and lineal heavyweight titles.
Having fought Fury to a split draw just 15 months ago in what many consider to be the best heavyweight boxing fight in a very long time, Wilder has the knowledge and experience to step back inside of the ring with “Gypsy King” and hand him his first career loss. All Wilder has to do it maneuver his way past Fury’s long jabs and unorthodox movement to land his monstrous power punches.
While some see Fury using his footwork and head movement to get out of the way of anything meaningful Wilder was able to land a dynamite combination in the 12th round of their first fight and put Fury on his back for nearly 10 seconds. Fury eventually got back to his feet but it still showed Wilder’s ability to use his power to thwart the late-fight advancements of “Gypsy King.”
In preparation for “Wilder vs. Fury 2” this weekend in Las Vegas, ESPN has compiled some of the most vicious knockouts in the career of “Bronze Bomber,” which can be seen in the above video player. So even though Fury has tasted Wilder’s power and somehow returned to his feet to tell the story the English veteran better be on top of his game or he’ll end up like everybody else in this video.
