Jorge Masvidal may be the official “BMF” king, but UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is undoubtedly the scariest fighter in the welterweight division today.

Usman, who is coming off an enthralling title defense over Colby Covington this past December, has found himself in quite the rivalry with “Gamebred” over the past few months. Not only did the two welterweights nearly come to blows during Super Bowl weekend, but they almost settled their beef inside of the cage at the now cancelled UFC 249 event.

Luckily, UFC is about to get back on track and a Usman vs. Masvidal title fight is something the promotion is going to lean this summer. The matchup was originally rumored to take place during International Fight Week in Las Vegas this July, but those festivities are currently on hold.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding UFC’s upcoming schedule, Usman is staying in tiptop shape as he self quarantines and prepares for a potential clash with Masvidal. The UFC welterweight champion released the above training montage earlier this week on Twitter, showing off his jacked physique as he pumps iron in his driveway.

Usman may not be as intimidating as this muscular middleweight, but “Nigerian Nightmare” looks ready to rip Masvidal’s head off when the two meet sometime this year. That should scare most “Gamebred” fans, especially considering Usman has the wrestling and cardio to really give Masvidal trouble inside of the cage.

Still, Masvidal was arguably Fighter of the Year in 2019 after recording knockout victories over Darren Till, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz. We’d be foolish to overlook the veteran in any way, shape, or form, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which Masvidal enters the cage and sparks Usman on sight.

Regardless of where your loyalty current lies, it’s safe to say that Usman vs. Masvidal will be the biggest welterweight clash of 2020. They are the two hottest fighters in the division right now and could lead any upcoming card UFC has brewing.
