Video: Tony Ferguson demonstrates his D’Arce choke technique on Kenny Florian

Ever wonder what it takes to land a perfect submission attempt inside of the Octagon?

Look no further. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight title contender Tony Ferguson recently set some time aside to demonstrate his patented D’Arce choke technique on the more-than-willing-to-be-choked Kenny Florian. The action can be seen above courtesy of UFC.

The owner of three UFC D’Arce choke finishes, “El Cucuy” stands alone when it comes to pulling off this difficult submission technique in crunch time. Ferguson’s athleticism and long limbs have certainly aided his past efforts, but the 33-year-old obviously relies on positioning and hand placement more than anything. While Ferguson offers a complete arsenal inside of the Octagon, he has relied on the D’Arce choke to get him through tough matchups in the past, including his victories over Edson Barboza and Lando Vannata.

At this point, Ferguson wishes that Florian was undefeated lightweight sensation Khabib Nurmagomedov. If “El Cucuy” could only get his hands on the Russian tank and prove that he’s ready to fight for the lightweight title then maybe his world-class D’Arce choke could be brought to new heights.

For now, “Ken Flo” must bear the brunt of Ferguson’s frustrations.
