Muhammad Mokaev has had a rough past month after parting ways with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) following a win over Manel Kape at UC 304 and not getting re-signed. Unfortunately, things have gotten even worse for Mokaev after getting into a pretty scary car accident this week in Dagestan.

The undefeated 24-year-old flyweight looked to be on his way to a UFC title shot in 2025, but outside antics and questionable negotiation tactics left UFC with no choice but to let “Punisher” walk last month (despite the young flyweight offering to fight for free). Most thought another mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion would pick the young contender up, but Mokaev has yet to sign anywhere else.

Even Professional Fighters League (PFL) continues to flounder when it comes to the idea of signing someone like Mokaev.

On Thursday, things got even worse for Mokaev when he was involved in a pretty terrifying car crash in Dagestan. The complete details are unknown at this time, but Mokaev and another passenger escaped with minor injuries and were eventually released from the hospital. It’s still not a great way to cap off the last 30 days for the young flyweight.

Check it out below:

“Alhamdulillah, I’m well, out from hospital,” wrote Mokaev via Twitter. “Thank you for the support! I have been tested on high level at this stage of my career and I will be back stronger. InshaAllah!”

Here is additional footage of the accident that could have ended much worse for the former UFC contender:
