It has been a wild year for mixed martial arts (MMA), especially when it comes to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). With fighters like Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Dominick Cruz, Michael Bisping, Urijah Faber and Luke Rockhold gracing the promotional roster, fight fans have had a lot to feed off of when the microphone is turned on. From personal insults to hilarious comparisons, the trash talk was extra heavy in 2016.
Led by McGregor vs. Diaz and Cruz vs. Faber, UFC released an epic compilation of the best soundbites from the past 12 months (shown above). As a major part of professional MMA, it’s always important to produce memorable quotes when the spotlight is the brightest. Some of the stars in this video are known to dish it out verbally, but other Octagon combatants like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Mickey Gall opened up this past year to make their voices known.
