Tulsi Gabbard worked out with Weili Zhang and Duke Roufus.
A Chinese UFC champion and a US Presidential candidate trained together recently.
Tulsi Gabbard offered to help Weili Zhang when she had visa issues, and now that the UFC strawweight champion managed to make her way to the US, the pair has trained together. As seen on their social media posts, Zhang and Gabbard worked out with Duke Roufus, Paul Felder and the rest of the Roufusport team.
“Today I had the honor to meet and train with Miss @tulsigabbard and she is a very strong martial artist,” Zhang wrote on Instagram. “We had a great training session taught by @coachdukeroufus and his team. It is a happy day when martial arts brings people together.”
“I got to train with the US Presidential Candidate from Hawaii #TulsiGabbard,” Roufus wrote on social media. “She has a background in Capoeira. She is good!!!”
Video of the training session can be seen below:
Zhang, who recently won the belt to become the first Chinese UFC champion, is currently on a promotional tour in the US. The 29-year-old has won 20 straight bouts since losing her MMA debut, and is currently 4-0 in the UFC.
