Top Rank Boxing delivered last night (Sat., Feb. 20, 2021) from inside MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Oscar Valdez stopped Miguel Berchelt with a 10th-round knockout to become the new WBC super featherweight champion.
Valdez, 30, pushes his undefeated record to 29-0 with this win and cements his third-straight knockout finish. The Mexican fighter commanded almost every second of the main event title fight and even dropped Berchelt before the final stoppage.
The knockout finish, which is the 23rd of Valdez’s career, can be seen above courtesy of ESPN.
On a night when UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis sent Curtis Blaydes into outer space (highlights HERE) boxing delivers one of the best one-punch knockouts you’ll see all year. Pretty good stuff from Valdez, who becomes just the second fighter to finish Berchelt.
