Video! Watch Perry’s Girlfriend Give Advice Between Rounds

When fight fans learned that Mike Perry would only have his girlfriend in his corner for his co-main event opposite Mickey Gall last night (Sat., June 27, 2020) at UFC on ESPN 12 they really didn’t know what to expect. Luckily, we have footage showing the in-between round exchanges between “Platinum” and his lovely lady.

After a back-and-forth first round that saw Gall land good shots on the feet and Perry scoring some points on the ground, the welterweight’s girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, offered her own unique advice entering the second. But instead of hearing the typical gameplanning from standard fight corners fans heard whispers of “You look good babe” and “You’re doing great.” The duo would have another back-and-forth entering the third.

Say what you will about the advice but it seemed to help Perry for the final 10 minutes of action. He was able to land his patented power shots on the feet before pummeling Gall on the ground. Gall hung in tough and tried to scramble for a submission finish but Perry’s patient attack couldn’t be denied.

It was certainly a unique look for Perry as he opted to man his corner without real coaches and real minds of the sport, but it ended up working out. Perry earned the unanimous decision win and his girlfriend got to corner her first professional MMA bout.
