Video: Watch UFC fighters attend ‘Athlete Retreat’ in Las Vegas

In an attempt to bring the roster closer and show that new ownership really cares, UFC, now ran by WME-IMG, held an “Athlete Retreat” earlier this week in Las Vegas, Nevada, in which they invited every single UFC fighter to attend a two-day extravaganza at promotional headquarters. UFC had promised celebrity appearances and musical performances at the end of the retreat.

While notable UFC fighters like Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, and Georges St-Pierre weren’t in attendance, the turnout was incredible. Much of the action was caught on camera by UFC flyweight Ian McCall, middleweight Uriah Hall, welterweight Alan Jouban, former middleweight champion Chris Weidman and former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.

Only time will tell if get-togethers like this will help smooth out any issues the roster has with UFC brass. Whether it be money, matchmaking or promotional favoritism, WME-IMG hasn’t been loved by all, so it’s nice to see the company making an effort to build rapport with each and every fighter.
