Chris Weidman was seen walking for the first time since his horrifying leg break against Uriah Hall at UFC 261.

Chris Weidman appears to be on the mend.

The former UFC middleweight champion recently took his first steps on an anti-gravity treadmill at Performance Rehab Associates in Charlotte, N.C. following his gruesome leg break at UFC 261 against Uriah Hall.

Weidman has been documenting his recovery on YouTube, and the UFC veteran posted an encouraging update earlier this week.

“Walking at 2.0 using 50% of my weight. So a little over 100lbs each step on the leg. We are getting there! I’m hoping in the next week or 2, and I can get some steps without using crutches , #recovery #progress #theallamerican” Weidman posted on Instagram this past Thursday.

The 36-year-old also uploaded a video to YouTube where his father celebrated his son’s first steps with a victory cigar (see below).

Weidman believes he could resume training in as early as 6-to-12 months, although he’ll need to take it slow. ‘All-American’ first underwent surgery on April 25, 2021.
