Alex Volkanovski is all healed up and back home in Australia after dealing with a nasty leg infection in Chile.

Volkanovski was admitted to the hospital just moments after his career-defining win over former featherweight king and pound-for-pound No. 1 Jose Aldo at UFC 237, where the 30-year-old beat ‘Scarface’ convincingly via unanimous decision.

Volkanovski was suffering with a bacterial infection in his leg, and it took over a week before the surging featherweight contender was finally released from hospital and allowed to travel back home.

Volkanovski uploaded a video to his Instagram account on Monday to let his followers know that he was back in Australia.

“Finally back!! Joe and I were so happy to be welcomed home by our families on arrival. Thank you to @doshlimousines for making this possible, coming home was a breeze. 1st class service every time.” – Alex Volkanovski.

Despite Volkanovski’s win over Aldo catapulting him to the No. 1 spot in the official featherweight rankings, the UFC has gone ahead and booked a championship bout between reigning king Max Holloway and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

The two featherweights will headline the upcoming UFC 240 PPV at Rogers Place in Alberta, Canada on July 27.
