Currently undefeated in the UFC, Alexander Volkanovski feels he has the edge over both Jose Aldo and featherweight champion Max Holloway.

Alexander Volkanovski has so far been on five-year win streak, with a 6-0 record in the UFC. This weekend, he will be taking on the biggest fight of his career against Jose Aldo at UFC 237.

Fighting the former long-time featherweight champion in his hometown is something Volkanovski is looking forward to, and he is certain he will leave Rio de Janeiro with his hand raised.

“(Aldo) is No. 1, and I’m the only one that’s undefeated in this division right now,” Volkanovski told MMA Junkie. “I believe it’s a no-brainer. And not only beating Aldo, I’m fighting him in his hometown. If that’s not a statement, I don’t know what is.

“And after I get the job done, I guarantee everybody’s going to say I’m the guy.”

A win over Aldo likely guarantees Volkanovski a shot at Max Holloway’s title. For that fight, the 30-year-old Australian is liking his chances.

“I always knew he could be beat,” he said of Holloway. “Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great fighter. I don’t mean that disrespectfully. But a lot of people look at wins and say he can’t be beat. It goes a lot deeper than that.

“Styles make fights. He gets in people’s faces, and they don’t know how to handle that. But I’ve always known that I could handle that. That’s my world. Then I’ve got my wrestling background, and I put it together so well.

“I believe I’m a bad matchup for him, just purely because I ain’t going to slow down,” Volkanovski added.

UFC 237 takes place this Saturday, May 11th. Rose Namajunas defends her strawweight title vs. Jessica Andrade in the main event.
