Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be back in business this weekend for one of its most important projects to date, as UFC 251 sets sail live on ESPN+ PPV from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
In preparation for the debut of “Fight Island,” UFC president Dana White sat down with media members for his typical pre-fight scrum. White covered a variety of issues during his 17-minute meeting, including “Fight Island’s” promising early numbers, the return of Jon Jones, and the death of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father.

In addition, White also spoke about Jorge Masvidal stepping up on short notice to fight Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title at UFC 251. That 170-pound grudge match will serve as the main event and give fight fans one of the best battles of the year. Usman is trying to prove he’s the most dominant champion in the sport today while “Gamebred” tries to cash in on his widespread popularity and walk out of “Fight Island” with UFC gold.
UFC 251 will also feature two other title fights, as Alexander Volkanovski takes on Max Holloway for the featherweight strap and Petr Yan battles UFC legend Jose Aldo for the vacant bantamweight crown.
