With news that Conor McGregor “allegedly” retired via Twitter, and Dana White confirming that “Mystic Mac” out of his Nate Diaz rematch at UFC 200, the hyped-up card is without a main event. Earlier today, Dana White made the announcement on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
White has been known to make any big UFC announcement on ESPN and this time was no different. The president explained McGregor’s absence due to his failure to market UFC 200.
“We pulled Conor McGregor from UFC 200,” White said. “Conor did not want to come to Las Vegas and film the commercial or any of the marketing we have.”
White went on to explain that Nate Diaz is still scheduled to fight at UFC 200 (despite his “alleged” retirement announcement on Twitter too) and will fly to Las Vegas tonight to work on that. Watch the full video at this link:
