Khalil Rountree scored an improbable finish earlier today (Sat., Sept. 4, 2021) at UFC Vegas 36 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he stopped Modestas Bukauskas with a vicious oblique kick.
Rountree came out firing and nearly finished the fight in the first minute of action. He busted up Bukauskas’ nose pretty bad but Bukauskas showed a good chin and kept moving forward. The fight trickled into the second round where Rountree continued to lead the dance. Out of nowhere Rountree launched a hard lead leg stomp that landed perfectly. The attack hyperextended Bukauskas’ knee in violent fashion and he was unable to continue.

This was a pretty impressive performance for Rountree who was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Prachnio. Rountree has failed to provide consistency throughout his UFC career but maybe this TKO win will put him on the right track heading into 2022.
