In an outcome just about any sensible person could’ve seen coming, Tito Ortiz worked over former WWE star Alberto “El Patron” Rodriguez on his way to a first-round rear-naked choke finish in the main event of Combate Americas’ inaugural pay-per-view card.

While their respective ringwalks took about nine hours to get through, the fight itself was short and not particularly competitive; almost as if Ortiz has been in-shape and up against someone whose last MMA bout was in 2010.

Ortiz immediately got side control off a scramble inside of ten seconds, as Alberto failed on a lateral drop. El Patron got back to his feet eventually but got clocked with a right hand and then taken down. Alberto tried getting up again but Ortiz landed left hands and kept him on the mat. Ortiz almost took his back, but got full mount instead, then back mount, and he sunk in the rear-naked choke. El Patron tapped out, Tito didn’t let go right away, but nevertheless the fight ended.

Official result: Tito Ortiz def. Alberto El Patron by submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:10 of round 1

The UFC Hall-of-Famer Ortiz has won three straight fights, all by stoppage, and he also takes the WWE belt from El Patron.
