Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight veteran, Diego Ferreira, was expected to fight Jesse Ronson at the upcoming UFC 231 pay-per-view (PPV) event this weekend in Toronto, after “The Body Snatcher” replaced the injured John Makdessi.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian, Ronson will also be yanked from the card after suggesting Ontario Athletic Commission ruled him unsafe to compete. Their 155-pound showdown was set to open the Fight Pass “Prelims.”

“Unfortunately my fight this Saturday at UFC is off,” Ronson wrote on Facebook. “I was too heavy to safely make the weight and perform so they pulled it. Ultimately better for my health but shitty I lost my UFC deal. Look for ‘The Bodysnatcher’ in TKO soon or maybe RIZIN or ONE FC.”

Ronson (20-8) parted ways with UFC back in late 2014, but earned a call back for UFC 231 on the strength of five straight wins, four of them coming under Canada’s TKO MMA banner. No word yet on the fate of Ferreira, but with only two days until weigh ins, a replacement is unlikely.
