Welterweight fighters Carlos Condit (26-5) and Chris Lytle (30-17-5) will face one another on the upcoming, and as yet to be announced, UFC 127 event in Australia.
Sherdog.com confirmed the bout’s likely date on the Aussie show, which is likely to take place on Feb. 27th in Sydney, Australia.
Condit earned his third straight victory with a devastating knockout of former #1 contender Dan Hardy at the UFC 120 event in England. The KO also earned Condit the “Knockout of the Night” honor. “Natural Born Killer” is 11-1 in his past 12 bouts, having defeated Hardy, Rory MacDonald via TKO at UFC 115, and Jake Ellenberger via split decision at UFC Fight Night: Diaz vs. Guillard in his past three wins.
Lytle, meanwhile is on his own winning streak having earned four straight victories since his loss to Marcus Davis at UFC 93. He last appeared at UFC 119, earning a unanimous decision over Matt Serra. The three other wins were against Matt Brown at UFC 116, Brian Foster at UFC 110, and Kevin Burns at the TUF 9 Finale. At one point “Lights Out” had won three straight “Fight of the Night” honors and has won seven “Fight Night” awards over his 18 fight career with the promotion.
