‘Sure’. That was Dana White’s response when asked about a potential superfight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre.
Dana White has finally succumbed to the pressure and given the thumbs-up to a possible superfight between undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and retired pound-for-pound great Georges St-Pierre.
‘Sure’, was White’s response when asked at the UFC 242 post-fight media conference if he was interested in booking the much-talked-about match-up.

White’s response comes just days after St-Pierre, the promotion’s former welterweight and middleweight champion, said the UFC had refused to enter negotiations for the bout in the past.
“If I ever come back, it’s not impossible but right now I don’t see nothing. The UFC refuse a fight with Khabib and I and there’s nothing that really excites me,” St-Pierre said last week.
Khabib, who submitted interim lightweight champ Dustin Poirier this past weekend to unify the titles, is still very much interested in the match-up.
”Georges St-Pierre is great guy, great champion, great athlete,” Nurmagomedov said. “He’s very good example for young kids. If he want to come back, if he feel hungry, if he feel he can improve his legacy with fight with me … and he can make 155, I am waiting for him. And I think maybe he like new belt? If he likes, I can give him, just only for one photo. But then he has to give me back this belt. But if he wants to fight? Welcome.”
It’s expected that Nurmagomedov’s next title defense will be against top contender Tony Ferguson, but money talks. A superfight between Khabib and GSP would be one of the biggest pay-per-view events in UFC history, perhaps topping a possible championship rematch between Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
