It’s not fair to criticize rich people for how they spend their money, even though UFC President Dana White raised a few eyebrows by filling his Las Vegas office with drug-filled guns and other pieces of urban (cough) “art.”
You can do that sort of stuff when you bank $360 million for five years of work.
But for every “Sin City” mansion he buys and tears down, White tries to give something back to the less fortunate, which is probably why former UFC interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, is jumping for joy.
“Just got off the phone with Dana White,” Poirier wrote on social media. “He is matching Khabib’s donation to the The Good Fight Foundation! I’m so grateful for the love and support! Thank you all!”
Poirier scored a $100,000 donation for his charity after his most recent opponent and reigning 155-pound kingpin, Khabib Nurmagomedov, auctioned off his UFC 242 fight shirt. The proceeds will help combat the pygmy water crisis in Uganda.
“The Diamond” was submitted by “The Eagle” earlier this month in Abu Dhabi but is expected to get back inside the cage by the end of the year, though as of this writing, a potential opponent has yet to be revealed.
