Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s latest beef on social media, which seems to be a continuation of their brawl at a World Series of Fighting event in 2015, led one fan to suggest that the UFC book a grudge match between the two lightweights.

The interwebs have responded by recirculating a 2014 tweet from UFC president Dana White saying that Diaz has already ‘turned the fight down’.

The head promoter responded to a fan on social media.

Although Diaz has yet to respond to Dana’s old tweet getting new life, the former lightweight title challenger said back in 2017 that White can’t stop ‘making sh-t up’ about him, insisting that he has never turned down a genuine fight offer.

“I just think about, I’m not turning down any fight ever,” Diaz told training partner Andre Ward.“They might be turning down the deal. So it’s on them. It’s not in my hands because I’ll fight when you pay.”

Diaz, who hasn’t fought since his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202, was expected to return to the Octagon against Dustin Poirier at UFC 230. Poirier, however, was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering an injury in training.

As of today, Diaz is still without an opponent.
